Our 4th, on the 2nd
The 4th of July has to be one of my favorite holidays, this year especially. Our city always has a free concert and fireworks display to celebrate. But for some reason it never seems to take place on the 4th. Last year it was on the 3rd and this year it was on the 2nd. Anyhow. Luke and I got together with a bunch of our friends to enjoys this event. It was a beautiful evening, perfect for spending out doors.
Here are Luke and his friend Isabelle riding in the wagon, on the way to the football field. They seemed to enjoy the ride and this was the first time we used both seats. I love my wagon!
Here is Luke in his sun glasses, which he actually kept on his face for a while, and his ear muffs. I was hoping that they would keep him from being too afraid when the fireworks started. 
My friend Joy and I listening to the concert. We couldn't really see it, being as how we were almost all the way in the back, and there was a giant rigging in front of us for all the cameras and lights.
We're waiting for the fireworks to start... any time now!

Although they surprised him a little, he did seem to enjoy watching the fireworks. About half way through the display he did fall asleep... I couldn't believe he managed it, but it had been a long day for us.
Now the real reason why this will be the best 4th ever... Tomorrow morning, on the real 4th of July, we will be picking up our daddy from his deployment!! We are so excited to have him back!!
